My thoughts on: Franken Ram added to my Stillen Intake(Pics)

A couple day's ago I recieved my franken Ram section. My first impressions of the pipe was very positive, the pipe looks very nice and high quality, the powder coating silver mathces my Sterling mist car very well.

The install went smooth everything fit on perfectly, with my Stillen intake the filter cleared the batery very nicely, there is a good inch and half of extra space there.

Once it was on I took the car out for a spirited spin. As soon as I started the car up and gave it a little rev I got a big grin on my face, ROAR. The engine sounds alive now! So I took the car out and nailed the gas and emmidiatly I notcied a noticable increase in throtle response, as soon as I hit the gas, BAMN the car moves. The sound from this ram section made the car sound 10X better then when I just had a stillen intake(I though it sounded good before). Maybe it's just my amagination but all around power seems to be up a bit, the car just pulls a bit harder through out the power band.

So if you want a really nice sounding car that is not annoying and performs well I recomend this intake to you! Good job Steve and mAttC, now let's see some headers!

Here are the pics, you can see how nicely this piece fit's on and IMO it really brings a sparkle to the engine bay.

How about making some secret mod to kill Acuras? Over there they have something called the RES that is supposed to be the big thing. I have no idea what that might be.

The RES is an intake manifold cover that creates a resonance effect in the manifold. Effectively it creates significantly more airflow into the engine, and thus more power.

Is that just a fancy name for a velocity stack? If so I allready have one

The effect involved is called the Helmholtz effect, and I don't know if the Frankencar intake is designed for it. I doubt it, but anything's possible. I've taken a college engineering course in fluid dynamics and I couldn't really describe it exactly.

I have a franken ram section{the pipe the replaces the resonator and connects too the TB) and a Stillen velocity stack/Filter.
