how badly should a 2002 mustang gt beat me?
because he didnt 1/3 times. hes got a catback, thats it. When we raced i had a STS and an intake and a hiflow cat. My best time in the 1/8th was 9.866 and his was 9.79 or somehting in that 9.7 range. Sure he sucks at driving but he wasnt pulling very hard on me ever, not like i would have thought when we were both just flooring it. Also i have a y pipe now, any thoughts.

The biggest advantage of the 99+GTs is there torque. He should be able to kill you from 0-30mph. From a roll, he should still walk you, but not like he would from a stop. On average, a Maxima with your mods should be hitting higher 14s@93mph or so. On average, a GT with a catback (doesn't do crap) should be hitting 14.2s@98mph.
In the right hands, lots of 99+GTs have hit 13s bonestock.

i know a guy in my area that ran a 14.4 i think, in his stock '99 or '00 mustang gt. i even have a video of him racing an acura nsx, he took the nsx off the line. he almost beat the nsx, the nsx ran a 14.2 i think, crappy for a nsx i think. afterall, the nsx guy was mad as hell that a stock mustang gt almost beat him...

Four quick Mustang questions that I might as well stick in this thread--
Are the Autos much slower than the 5-speeds?
How can you tell if it's a 5.0 (4.6?), all the GT's obviously, do all the other V-8s have a different logo or something?
We own all V-6 Mustangs, Right?
Are there a lot of V-6 Mustangs out there? (What's the point of a V-6 Mustang , 'It may not be fast, but at least it's not practical' )

2000+ V6 5spd Stangs are pretty quick. 0-60 in about 7 flat.
My friend has one with Headers, CAI, Superchip, and just straight pipes comming out of the engine. No cat, muffler, nothing. He has alot of torque down low. That thing pulls hard, and could probubly beat alot of 5spd Minima's.
Although the insanely loud noise it makes & torque makes me think its faster than it really is.
