Mine cost $100 with at extra envelope for the lug nuts, so I would say around $90. This is via UPS ground.

I recently shipped 4 momo arrows (50lbs each with tires) insured for $300 each from NY to AZ.

~$50 per wheel. $200 with packaging all said and done.

How could it not be close? I sent them from my UPS customer counter.

We're talking 200lbs insured for $1200 and packaging. The total was $194 something.

Keep in mind these aren't stock wheels I'm talking about, they are much, much heavier.

Why'd you all pay so much more than WhalenTire does? They charged me about $80 for 4 wheels, tires, lugs and locks..

Vendors who do a lot of shipping through a certain company probably get a lot of incentives towards shipping rates.

You don't need to do a significant amount.. all you need is a business account to get lower pricing than what the normal public gets. But, there are companies that get deeper discounts than other businesses due to volume, as you mentioned.
