Bye Bye Max

Bye Bye Max
The time finally came to get out of my 2011 SV Sport. I had an unfortunate incident involving a ladder in the middle of the highway at 4:30 am in the morning on the way to work. The poor max didn't fair well and sustained some significant damage to the front undercarriage and engine area. Well it gave me an excuse to TD the 2016 max. Overall I was not taken in with it. IMO just didn't seem like much of an improvement over my 2011. I dearly loved the 2011 and I spent some time trying to locate another SV sport with low mileage in good condition, no luck there.
After everything was said and done, I ended up with a 2015 Ford SHO PP, with a drive out of less than 30k, actually less than what I paid for my 2011 Max. Even though the SHO is an outgoing model, I can honestly say I am enjoying it as much if not more than the "ole Max. It has more Tech than my Max had, and with the few mods I have done is now around 400 HP with all wheel drive.
Thanks for the memories Nissan and my Max, and I wish you well with the 2016, but it just wasn't for me.

Cars are more than just tech, I'll take a simple car with no tech over one full of gadgets. Short of being made by Lexus, all of those are just extra things that will cause nightmares in the future and are barely worth the mild benefits. You'll need a lot of luck with anything Ford and turbo. I'm just waiting in a couple more years when everyone regrets buying them and they're all worthless. Turbos are nothing but trouble on most cars, only Subaru and Volvo seem to have gotten it halfway right but even then they still have their issues. Give me supercharged or bust
I don't know how anyone even drives those Taurses, they have the worst visibility of any sedan I've been in. My '13 Mustang has better visibility even with louvers on the rear quarter panel windows and the larger spoiler.

I do not blame you, that's how I felt when I went to look at the 2016 Maxima. I like the styling, but when I sat in it and the overall size of the car and the value for the money, I could not justify it. I think I have fallen out of favor with the Maxima now since I still have my 5th gen and still loving it. For some reason, I sat in the Altima, it felt more soul than the Maxima. It's kind of sad but wish it was the other way around.
