Air Intake Hose - Lubricate to get back on?
2001 i30 w/ 208k
I've been in a neverending loop of time with my i30 relating to the P0505 drama. I'm now to the point (after dealing with getting screws off of the back of the ECU, drilling out a tough screw on the idle controller, etc) where I'm putting on a replacement Air Intake Hose as the old one was old and damaged (it was tough to remove also).
The new one (Dorman) looks great, but one reason why I may have had problems is that the end of the throttle body connector has a lip around it, meaning that the new hose has to be stretched (I guess) to go around the lip and then pushed back where it'll fit in its grove in the back of the hose.
I'm worried about damaging this new one. Is there any safe lubricants/oils I can put on it to help slide it on? I don't want to damage the rubber. Maybe like some non-stick spray or something? Used motor oil would damage it, right?
Any ideas? I'm willing to use force and just keep pushing and twisting if that's what I'm supposed to do, but there has to be an easier way.
Thanks!!

UPDATE: I went ahead and tried spraying/wiping some WD-40 on the end and it slipped on pretty easily! Woo hoo! Hopefully I haven't done any long term damage, but I stand behind doing that versus force for me as I would've wound up with another cracked hose.
