Retarding timing for nitrous

Anybody have any idea how much retarding the timing 1 degree hacks off normal performance? I'm only running a 60 shot, so is this even necessary? I'm just going by the install shop's recommendation, and I wanted to see if it was something I needed to do for a small shot.

I'm pretty sure the search will not help you. But it has been discussed several times over the last 2 years so I don't remember all of it Search knows all

The only way to retard timing on the maxima is to get an aftermarket ECU, we dont have distributors and thus can't advance and retard timing manually like Hondas for instance.
