OG's Chime In: What are you driving these days

To this day, I regret selling my 4th gen. I drive an Evo as a track car and a 5 series as a daily. I'm on the fence about buying another Maxima.

Traded in the 97 Max for a lexus IS convertible and totaled my 2K max and got a Lexus RX350.

I wanted to stay with the Maxima but I couldn't find any decent 4th or 5th gens. The CVT transmission Nissan currently uses was a deal breaker for me.

as usual im recycling other peoples junk, hate how they like to park a good clean vehicle with a small problem because a shiny plastic front end and a wannabe european interior full of buttons catches their eye so they park the barely broken one and let it "petri dish"
full of "sink-attles wa." own special brand of molds while the lawn grafts to it
then some poor guy like me gets to do an "interior off" cleaning(currently my 92 scort'waggin-its a stick at least, lol)
but they ARE dang near free
(just time consuming-which i have no shortage of)
heres my last few which had me selling the 91 se maxima for something i can use to move away in soon(before i get any quake soon-on-me)-tsunami,lol

edit/addition(How can i forget my old chevy g 20 van back when i was @ 18,
And the 93 chevy astro van i had before the mpv and caravan
gotta sell em when the tabs run out around here, lol)
the 93 astro had bad Overdrive but i just drove it in D instead like the guy i bought it from did.
once you go van you never........ (never can go on dates?)-(never can offer rides without creepin out?)

a 2002 mazda mpv es,had the duratec v-6 with a 5 speed!A/T!,WHUAT!
but the engine cover had a MAZDA emblem, lol
( i had to repair alot! on this temporary weekender and profit maker)

and my 1999 canadian spec(really)dodge grand caravan with the 3.3l v-6 and a healthy transmission( I fixed alot of tings on this one too)
current daily driver and i even hang out in it in more than id like too,lol
other than the gas guzzlin and wonky gas level sender(AGIAN !)
and the seller not having the lock remote fob-
no other complaints about the caravan-
its a front wheel drive truck with non removable canopy
-not a mommy van,capisce?!
Or its a modern covered wagon pulled by 6 majestic steeds-yup

sold 5th gen max to another member of these forums and friend of mine.

got a g35x to replace it. drove it for 6 years. Not a single issue. but the interior fit and finish and materials used was a joke. no more japanese cars for me. their interiors these days are a joke.

i moved to a mercedes last year. say what you will about being over-priced, but the interior alone is worth it.

Still have my 5th Gen Max but been in garage for some time, I have been driving a Mercedes E350 Sport love it and I wouldn't trade for anything, especially another Nissan since it's not the same like the 5 gen, because Nissan quality hasn't been specular and same with their CVT with questionable reliability

I'm not quite an OG, but I'm selling my '05 6MT I've had the last 6 years instead of continuing to fight the ABS actuator issue. Thinking about a used 2016 4-door GTI to drive for 2 years, then trading it in on a minivan for the wife.

I'll take her 2013 Leaf until I can save up enough to get a 2013 G37 6MT (hopefully an unmolested one will be around in 2021ish??), or give up on the 6MT Japanese sedan altogether and jump into a 6MT Chevy SS.

Manual transmissions are vanishing before our eyes.

But it will be my last nissan i have no interest in them anymore. Got my eye on a 2018 WRX.

Got a 335i then a 2nd gen G35 sedan for the wife
Still kept the 3rd gen, got rid of the G and got the new 328i Sport line.
Now I'm considering an X5 or a pick up truck. Still keeping the 3rd gen though.

I hold on to cars for awhile as well. Currently in an 03 wrx wagon since 2013. I may go to the 10'+ wrx hatch style next. I noticed Nissan makes some of the parts on my Subaru. However if I get a toy sc300 or sc400 I will keep the wrx for awhile.
