Hey U,

How did you do what you did with the plastic piece? Do you know of any options to have that piece chromed as well?

How long did it take u .. & did u torque the bolts back to a certain spec?

Tkx!!

its just a cosmetic cover you can do whatever you want to it and it doesnt have to be torqued.

Plastic cover was custom painted by my bodyshop at the time my car was being repainted. The idea of getting a plastic valve cover piece 'polished' doesn't make too much sense to me. I'm not aware of any options to have that done.

There's no wrenching involved in putting back the plastic piece. You'll need to use a hex bit for removal/install.

Russ has a write up on valve cover removal/install on his How-To section. www.5thgenmaximas.com

I hope this helps.

Actually, I meant the valve cover. Polished aluminum is a wonderful thing but after it's polished, it becomes kinda high maintenance! My bike has alot of polished aluminum.

Yeah it is. Everything in there is cast aluminum. The block, V/C's, intake plenum etc. This is why we can get stuff like this polished for short money. Aluminum is soft and takes minimal effort to polish. If it was regular steel it would rust. I

I have an extra non-polished valve cover if anybody's interested. I just put my polished one on. I don't really need another one. Just let me know.
