We'll see Mr. Bill...we'll see.
Keep in mind this, though...
My Accord V6 rattled all over the place - ****ed the hell out of me.
The leather was not very high quality and was not all that comfy (for me)
But at least my paint was okay.
Also, I did not buy this M A X I M A new.
I took advantage of a special Nissan financing deal called "crappy resale" and got a significant discount off of the new price. So even if it becomes like my Accord was or a "Minima" as you put it, I don't care. So be it. Now I would definitely be ****ed if I had paid the full new price for it of $27k+ and it turned into a "Minima" but I paid waaaaaay less than that so I'm happy even if it does turn into a Minima.
Win-Win for me

Yeah, floormats are #1 on the list right now. I actually have them in the trunk but they're bleached out or something? I think the previous owner tried to wash them or something and the beige got bleached out so I'll just get some new ones.

I have some ghetto K-Mart ones in there or something, the previous owner left them in the car. I'm going to get OEM mats when I have a chance though, they fit over that little peg under the front of the driver's seat and that holds them there. The ones I have slide everywhere when I'm driving and always end up at the front of the footwell.Cliff's Notes: If you do need to get new mats, spring for the OEM.
Geez, I'm such a nice poster today... it's probably cause I haven't got down to the 4th gen forum yet and read the 8 million questions about LED washer nozzles.

Bill: Paul doesn't have the 6-speed anymore.

Good question.Originally posted by LucentAUTO
why did u post in max forum but owned a accord?
why didnt u get a maxima first instead of v6 accord?
When I graduated from college a year ago I was driving an old 90 Camry 5spd beater and only considered new cars at the time. I was tired of driving old beaters and wanted to treat myself to a brand-spanking-new car for all of my hard work. I wanted an import mid-sized V6 sedan so I considered a Camry V6, Accord V6, and Maxima. I preferred a stick but auto was okay too.
I wanted the Maxima first but couldn't fit in it (not enough knee room - don't ask) and there were some other things too (fuel-cut issue was still unresolved) so I threw out the Maxima.
Next I looked at the Camry V6. You seriously could not find these things in 5spd form. Nobody had them and all you could do was factory orders. I didn't like the car that much anyways and felt a little cramped as well so I said to hell with that.
At this point I was giving up on getting a 5spd and was just going to settle for an auto (big mistake) and got an Accord V6. I fit okay, fully loaded and the price was right. But then after a few months of having it I missed an stick shift and the car responded extremely poorly to mods. Great car, can't say anything bad about it, but performance potential is just too low and requires spending too much money.
Then one day SprintMax mentioned that I might fit in a 4th Gen because it's cockpit layout seemed to be a little more spacious than the 5th Gen's. So I went to the local dealership and sure enough I fit great in it!

So I was then sorta considering trading in my Accord V6 but wanted to wait for some new models (gen 6 Max, Gen7 Accord, WRX STi, EVO VII, etc.) but then some jacka$$ did me the favor of totalling my car for me and didn't give me the choice of waiting.
The insurance settlement was so damn good that I was going to just get a "new" (again) WRX 5spd. But the woman of my life complained that the seats were horrible and she didn't have enough leg room, and that if I got it I would "owe her" and she would whine and complain non-stop if we ever went on long trips. So she convinced me to look for a good used Maxima.
Sunday morning I searched AutoTrader.com, print out a bunch of info, and then went and test drove a lot of beat up, poor condition Maxima's that afternoon. Finally drove about 30 miles away and found one fully loaded and in mint condition.
Now it's Monday and I have a 4th Gen Maxima

I don't regret purchasing the Accord V6 though. It's a great car. And last year I was driving a ton (30,000 miles in one year) and it saved me a good chunk of change by being able to pump 87 octane in it - something you can't do in the Maxima. But this year I don't need to drive a lot any more and now I have a Maxima

PICS
99 SE 5spd - every option.

P.S.: Is your 4th Gen intake ready? I need one soon. I had an intake on my Accord and this VQ is much too quiet for me with the stock intake

By the way, you're in a catch-22 situation. You gave up a car that you wound up driving alot, and that was not known as a drivers car.
Now you're in a 5 speed Max, and you don't need to drive alot?
I can almost here your VQ snickering and saying "we'll see about that"
I bet you'll soon be making excuses to make a road trip. 1st you'll start small and pick up groceries 2 towns over instead of right down the street! All I can say is this:
Enjoy the ride!
