Okay, so you got yourself out of a speeding ticket. But I dunno what is so proud about losing the cop. I mean, I see speeders on the streets everyday and I wish a cop would give them a ticket.

Drive carefully...

I'm with "Eric L." I think it is completely stupid to run from cops. Fleeing from cops to save your cowardly rear usually entails significantly greater recklessness. Every time I see a video of some nut running from the cops on TV, I wish the air copter would pull out a 50 cal and take out the idiot running. You risk the cops life, and if he is injured or gets killed, here in Texas you will face murder charges. And you KNOW we have no problem putting people in the chamber.

Not to rag on your car, but I seriously doubt you could outrun a DPS or even a Dallas PD. Cops are used to the runaway game, the stunt you pulled in nothing "inventive".

If you are speeding and get busted by a cop, be man enough to pull over and deal with the ticket. Often if you aren't an a$$ about it, he'll be cool to you.

See you should chose your words carefully when talking to me. cause you don't know me. It wasn't Dps or dallas pd it was lewisville. I can appreciate your view but you don't pay for my tickets or insurance. I wasn't doing anything wrong and if I am going to get pulled over it better be for something more than some cops quota... so in the future you and Eric L can stay the **** out of my Business...

I've seen a Max.org cop from TX-->>

admit he Racially profiled someone and said he "he maddogged(starred at him) him" so he pulled dude over who was on a bike(LOL!!) So you can't even look at cops who are starring at you in TX's..

How about choosing your words more carefully when posting. Your account sign-up agreement clearly states:

This post is both obscene and threatening and I would suggest that you please keep this in mind when posting again.

Texas

I've lived in Austin, Dallas, and Denton Texas and haven't had any unusual problems with cops. Now small town cops, that's different as they need that ticket revenue. I pulled a J-turn, dumped the clutch, and spun tires once in front of two cops here. (Didn't see them!) They just smiled and kept going.

I love Austin. Get a clue.

"doug" it does not matter what race you are. Consider this. If you are a person of color and you think you are being profiled is it better to:

A)Pull over and act civil or
B)Run, get caught, be taken to jail, have your license revoked, have your car taken away, make the 6 o'clock news, embarass your family, and lose your job while you wait to go to trial.

It's really quite simple. It doesn't matter what you think MIGHT happen if you get pulled over, the other option (running) is MUCH worse. I've lived in Texas all my life (and love it) and the only cop who really gave me a problem was black. Bad cops come in all races.

"Eric M", when you posted on this forum you made your business public. If you can not stand scrutiny of your actions, you should not post here. At issue is not who pays your insurance or tickets, rather it is doing something you have zero business doing. BTW, DPS has jurisdiction over all of Texas, including metropolitan areas. Speed in front of one and find out.

Re: Texas

i got pulled over for speeding, in austin also.

cop saw my shiny car and let me go, 12 over too.

now 36 mph over was a different story but cop reduced the penalty so i could take defensive driving, dropping that charge.

well my dad (who is "black") had the drug dogs brought into my maxima by cops for crossing the lane or some bs, after pulled over in hicko lousiana.

now that sucked. btw eric had fun seems like..

Sir your trying to over simplify a subject in which you are-->>

obviously not aware of.. Appearantly Eric M has been pulled over previously for no other reason but being Black. You, assuming your not Black, cannot relate since you have never had the pleasure of minding your business and been pulled over for nothing OFTEN!! I do agree with you that he should have pulled over, if they were chasing him, but when people are pushed to their breaking point(which may be where he(Eric M) was at the time) you never know what one may do.

The Black Cop thing means nothing... Cops are Cops and they will continue to Profile, Assault, Kill until they are properly trained which obviously isn't in the interest of most of America..

Sorry, but if you post on this forum, it becomes everyone's business (those being the people who reads this forum). If this is going to degenerate into an argument, take it to private e-mail.

Who's to say I have zero business doing anything?

1. I know DPS has jurisdiction everywhere but it was not a DPS officer and I never said it was.

2. Me being of my own free mind and will I can choose to do as I wish So don't tell me about my rights. being a Vet I am well versed on rights
3 you have the right to critisize me but I can agree to disagree with you and let it flow in one ear and out the other but you are not me and what you think doesn't matter to me.
4 having an uncle for a state congressman say I can run get caught and usually get a slap on the wrist....

Not to start or cause anymore trouble than there already is

And no racial or offensive comments or questions are being posted. But I noticed in your sig you have "There is no I in pothead." I asume this means you are a user,and am making NO judgments on that issue and I am wondering if there is the chance that you were in possession of any when this took place, making you feel the need to avoid being pulled over and being unfairly searched. It would make more sense to me than just because you were profiled. I do believe profiling happens, it's happened to my wife, but if you have done nothing wrong, what are the chances the cops will make things up? Most traffic officers have cars with cameras installed which does make it more difficult to make things up. That's what my wife used to end any potential problems. Although I have no ideas about TX cops, cause I live in GA. Just wondering........

Eric M, that's an extremely immature attitude you are taking here. I mean, you say "stay out of my business" and you blatantly post that you outran a cop. Why even post about the incident unless you want people to make it their business and comment on it? What did you expect, everyone to congratulate you on what a great job you did by outrunning a cop?? If that's what you expected, then man, your ego is so inflated that you don't even deserve a response.

And when you posted that you "did nothing illegal"...well that's not true. You said you were going 40 in a 40...okay that's fine. But when you sped up, your were speeding and driving at a speed which was unsafe for that street (that's what speed limits are for, and please don't go off about how speed limits are too low, we all have to obey them, it's the law). So, by speeding, you were doing something illegal.

My original post for this thread was just a post of concern that if you drive like this all the time, you'll get caught someday. I was just trying to give some advice for you to drive carefully. I did not say anything like "WTF did you do that for, idiot??" I would never say a mean thing like that....and your response to this matter justifying your illegal activity is nothing short of irresponsible.

Another thought in this melee...

You don't necessarily have to have a 'nice car' and be 'black.' My dad is um...brown.hehe He got stopped a couple years ago in his '89 3rd gen, because the cops thought he had drugs!!!
He was dressed kinda nice, b/c he has to wear a suit to work(works for Conoco in ecommerce), but that's about it. And he's 47 this year, kinda old for a drug runner, dontcha think? What's up with that??

Concerning your second paragraph-->>

He wasn't doing anything illegal for the police to start coming after him not that he did nothing illegal that day..

He was doing 40 in a 40 the cops allegidly started after him.. Nothing illegal there..

But no one will ever know if the cop was after him

Especially if he was doing nothing wrong. I mean after all, how many of us have had a cop fly up on us and the first thing we think is oh crap what did I do wrong, only to have him fly by us. The cops aren't after us everytime(Just most of the time )

It's way different homey ..-->>

ask you dad how many times he's been pulled over in his life.. I've been pulled over 27 times and I'm 27years old with 0 points on my license and have recieved only 2 speeding tickets.. So imagine how many more times I will be pulled over for the next 20 years if profiling isn't properly address.. Most likely I'll be dead from a so called basic traffic stop.. I really wish you guys would stop trying to belittle these racist injustices especially when you know NOTHING about them.. It would be one thing to try and understand but saying your dad got pulled over two years ago because they thought he had drug really has no merit on the amount of Racial Profiling that affects Black Males. **** it's a common question for black to be asked about drugs, guns and my favorite Bank Robbery(thanks SouthBeach!).
