Question about Maxima headlights

So 4th gen had Halogen, and it looks like 5th gen had HID low but Halogen highs which I assume are as crappy as the 4th gen Halogen high-beams?
When did the Maxima get significantly better high beams?

Thanks

6th gen Maxima's offered the bi-xenon headlights in the models with HID headlights. 2004 and up this began

Great thanks, I've been confused about the 5th gens because wouldn't it be far more useful to upgrade high beams to HID than low beams?

I use my HID low beams much MUCH more than my halogen high beams so I am happy that they chose Low to be HID.

and I have 9011 bulbs in my high beam sockets when I need the rare use of high beams.

HID are not supposed to be turned on and off repeatedly or quickly. It was common for HID to be low beam only (wired to stay on with highs) with a separate halogen high beam. When projectors really caught on soon a shield was used to block the HID bulb for low beam pattern. The shield raises for high beam.
