Add HID high beams to headlights?

I've been gone for about 4 months or so now. was in an accident back in august and was going through a lot of stuff with my old max. i purchased an 02 a while back, and thought it would be cool if i could scrap the original (yellowish) high beams that came stock on the vehicle. I have HID low beams, but not high. I have done an advanced search on yahoo for this forum about this to no avail . i was wondering if anyone had a link to some bulbs that would perfectly match the stock HID low beams?

thanks in advance

dont so it for 2 reasons
1. its illegal
2. you will hardly ever use the hi-beams so it wont matter (and when you do, the street is lit up just fine since the hi-beams and HID lows are on)

in addition, its not good to be constantly turning HID's on and off, they wear out very quickly.

excessively bright lights are dangerous for other drivers. Just because you can see the road nicely doesn't mean it's the appropriate thing to do.

it sounds like you wanna do it for looks instead of functionality. if so, you are gonna blind people. you can see the road (we all know that already)

It's an all around bad idea. If you do it, you'll like it for 2 days and then after wonder why you spent the time/money/aggravation to do something you can't really even use.

I hardly ever turn on my high beams anyway, only on really dark curvey roads.

if u really wanna be annoying, which is what it seems that ur going for(as am i, its why i already have hid fogs and hid brights going in a few days)

since my fogs turn off when my brights go on, im sure the 5.5gens do too, im running mine on a seperate switch so i can turn the highs on regardless of the rest of the lights. i dont know why i need all these hids, but i live in the middle of nowhere, (so im not irratating everyone)and theres a new deer hit nearly every week in my neighborhood. i even mounted a high pithed siren on the front of my car, cause the deer are getting so bad lately. and yes i drive slow and safe

haha the other day i just noticed the fogs turn off when i turn on the highs lol

but if you want hid for your high beams do it right and retrofit bixenon projectors in your headlights and that'll give you hid high beam without harming the hids

Thanks for all the help guys... but heres a thought for those who saids its illegal and what not...I also have an 06 maxima..The high beams on there are Xenons just as well as the low beams, and that came factory on there..Im just curious as to why it would be as bad an idea to convert the 2002 in the same manner.. In any case, thanks alot for the info

2006 Max's have solenoids that flip down when the high beam switch is enabled. Very different from aftermarket "bi-xenon."

It takes maybe 30 seconds for hids to warm up.... I NEVER have my high beams on for longer than that!!! Let's be serious guys, it's like having HID reverse lights...

on hidplanet.com i remember reading some dude did hid reverse lights lol but ya the 06 max have bixenon projectors which the shield will move down when high beam is activated. that's why i suggest you retrofit bixenon projectors to your 02 headlights if you want the hid high beams. it's the safest way to do it but the retrofitting process might not be so easy hah
