Hey Guys!... I just installed a a new clutch

i just installed a new clutch in my 94 mazda b 3000 2wd and started it up and heard a grinding sound . So pissed off thinking i had to drop that * again i started tearing the driveline and removing the fluid and i get to the starter and its not wanting to come out after all the bolts are removed , i get it out an notice the outside casing of the starter body is grinding onb the fly wheel will shims help this or is there something i did wrong

Some starters required shims to maintain proper clearance between starter an flywheel but that was years ago since I saw this.
