Alternator help

Hi everyone. I am having to replace the voltage regulator plug on my 2011 nissan maxima. The plug crumbled in my hand when I pulled it out. The problem is I got am after market one that has red black and green wires. The car has brown yellow with a black stripe and blue. Does anybody know what wires go to what color?

The plug only goes on one way, right? Before you cut off the bad end, look at the orientation of the old plug and put the new plug in the same orientation. Label the wires on the new plug so it matches up with the old plug. That way you'll know what color goes to what.

if the oem plastic connector crumbled but the metal terminals are still good, you might be able to depin the aftermarket pigtail and slide the oem terminals into the aftermarket plastic connector. Just depin one terminal first from the aftermarket pigtail and match it up to the oem to make sure that the terminals are identical in size, shape and locking tabs, if they are, swap the three wires over.
