Dreaded P1446 DTC

I have a Gen 6 2004 Maxima with the dreaded P1446 DTC. I changed the purge valve, cleared the code and all seemed good. After several starts the code came back while driving. When I got home I activated the valve via my scanner but it will not stay energized. I tried several times and the valve only activates for maybe 2 seconds. I know the valve is good and getting a good signal. Why can’t I get it to stay active?

Any advice will be appreciated?

I have a manual. Is this for an automatic? Never ran across that code before.

The vehicle is automatic. The P1446 is a common code but usually a change of the purge valve or fiddling with the charcoal canister clears the problem. Like I said, I replaced the the valve but I can’t get it to stay energized for more than 2 seconds.

The car might be a dod hit or some type of source that or I can say check the charcoal box get that looked at it into it. If you don`t have a electric short in the harness and you replaced the part its either the short or the charcaol box.
