Hi, I have a super black 96 se. I'v recently been thinking about replacing my front grill. A couple of days ago I recieved a trenz billet grill from god father customs. Thier website says the grill is for 95-99 maximas, but when i got it, it didn't fit. So I call trenz and they say god fathers customs website is wrong and that they only make grills for 97-99. So now i'm stuck with my stock grill. I was wondering if any one knows of any other grills available for a 96. I'm also wondering if anyone has any advice on how to maybe construct a new grill out of mesh or something. I've seen the smx grill and i dont like it. Thanks for the help

The billet grill is available for a 96,

and anywase a 97 grill could be easaly be made to fit on a 96 {I am living proof of that},what happens when you go to put it on your car explain what the problem is?Your most likely just doing something wrong.

are you talking about the trenz grill? when I got mine I tried every way to put it on and it didn't work. When you look at the bumper line and the bottom of the grill it just doesn't match up. also I talked to the people at trenz and they said it is not available for the 996, it was a catolog error

RE:Trenz GRILL

What you can do is either get 97-99 headlights or get 97-99 headlight brackets and put them on your 95-96.You ask why should you do that it is simple because the grill mounts to the headlight brackets so if you do either of the 2 things I said it will fit.Peace.

Re: The billet grill is available for a 96,

was it my imagination or was there a screw drilled right into the bumper cover for you to make the 97 grill fit? it doesn't line up at all w/ the bumper.

That screw was there from before I got my 97 headlights cause It did not fit before, but anyways I just left it there so water would not get in the bumper and what not.

The bumper covers are different between the 95-96 and 97-99, thats why the grilles arent interchangable. The headlights are an exact fit.

and got a 97 grill with headlights and it fits niiice.I decided I am never going to bother arguing about this stupid subject anymore since I have for like a year and it did'nt do jack shi* so guys think what ever you want to think but I still will be cruisin the streets with my 97 grill. And just for the hell of it I'll say it one last time you don't need a 97 bumper it doesnt have any thing to do with the grill.
