Simplest Way to Solve and Plot a Differential Equation in Maxima?
Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to Maxima and just starting to explore its capabilities for symbolic math. I have used it for basic algebra and calculus.., but now I am trying to understand how to solve and plot a simple differential equation.
Let’s say I have this ODE:
dy/dx = x + y with initial condition y(0) = 1.
I have looked into ode2 and ic1.., but I am not fully confident I am using them right. Could someone walk me through how to solve this in Maxima and then plot the solution: ??
Also, any tips on formatting the plot nicely (title, axis labels, etc.) would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help..really enjoying learning Maxima so far and want to get deeper into its differential equation tools !!
With Regards,
Daniel
