Envy me fellas

I've already been in one but it was stationary, so I have no idea how the car handles on the road.

I was reading in the automotive forum that some guys have already test driving the skyline G35. Said that it handled really well. So far the G35 is just a tease.

C&D has a little article on the G35 (preproduction) and said that although it was a competitive offering, it did not quite have the handling of a bimmer... In the same issue, they say the same about their longterm IS300. Hopefully, that is just with the preprodution model. Also, will G35 also have a "sport" version like BMW's? I think that easily could have made the difference in their minds. Infiniti has a preorder going where you can buy your new G35 and get it later. Why you'd want to do that sight unseen is beyond me...

G35

According to March issue Road and Track, 6spd not available for 6 months after the G35 is first available ( March 02). Wont consider one until the manual is available....

G35

Yes, they offer a leather, premium and sports model, but they won't be in the dealers until 4/02. You can pre-order, but why buy without a test drive and dealers are asking and getting MRSP now since it is new.
I will plan on replacing my wife's accord with one at the end of the year if it looks as good in person as on paper. I did see one at the phila. auto show which looked stunning (except maybe the tail) but they would not let us go inside since they said it was pre-production and the interior would be different when it makes it to the dealers.

I hope it is not too popular and is a sleeper so I can wheel and deal for a good price at the end of the year.

The pics are pretty accurate to how the interior will look like.

Power seat controls are on the top of the seat, nice touch. Back seats are tilt-adjustable. By now, everyone would also know the gauge pod moves up & down with the steering wheel height, like Porsches some 20+ years ago.
Engine compartment is classy, strut towers are virtually non-existent. Battery & brake booster has its own compartment. Alot of coverings, but looks really classy & neat!

The only thing I haven't got use to on the G35 is the headlights. But with time perhaps it will grow on me.
