performance springs

I was wondering if you needed to purchase new struts if you want to install perf springs, or will the perf springs work with the stock strut setup??? I only ask because I have a 2k max se and the suspension seems fairly stiff as it is.

Re: performance springs

if you think that the standard equipment is stiff, it's only going to get stiffer with perf. springs.

You can have aftermarket springs with stock struts. Your struts won't last long after that. Then you'll need new struts. Like Nick said, aftermarket springs are only going to get stiffer.

thanks for the advice! I know that it is going to get stiffer, and that is what I want. I was just wondering about use of stock struts in conjunction w/ performance springs. In a nutshell I want to be able to lower the car, get a little more performance out of it, and do so without spending too much money.

you can but they are going to bust sooner or later. some ppl have used stock struts with performance springs and have no problems "yet" but its wiser to buy the whole spring/strut setup and install it at the same time which will save you money from the shop. unless you do all the work yourself.

thanks for the advice. overall it does sound like the best thing to do, and it is what I will do when I change over. I wish nissan would wake up and sell the stock SE's a little lower!

I like that 10 sec car ......that was the first car I ever owned!
