going from N to D at 3000rpm = bad?...

today i was at a light, i put in N (forgot why), but when the light turned green, i forgot it was in neutral, so i hit the gas, it went up to 3000rpm, thats when i noticed that it was still in N, so like the dumbass that i am, i put it in D, the car jolted back and the tires chirped. i was wondering, was that a real bad thing that i did? if it isn't that bad, would it be okay if i did it again? i am talking about my civic here, and i can't get the damn car to chirp its wheels, but this way, i can
to keep this related, i would never do this in our MAXIMA

haha...you just did a mini neutral drop on your civic!

err...I wouldn't do that all the time but just once without your foot on the gas it probably didn't hurt anything.

I did that once in the max(by accident), I was backing up and I popped it into drive, and the gear wasnt engaged yet, but I was pressing the gas a little, and the wheels chripped and some smoke came up. I hit myself for that one!

i dont care that much that i did it, cause its the civic, as long as it wont mess the tranny up in the future from this one incident, i dont really care, besides i might sell it in the next year. i would never do that in the maxima, i'm a lot more careful when i'm in that car.
