My max is sick...VERY sick.....

so Nealoc187, MAX2000JP, BEJAY and I went and got our cars dynoed today....good news for Neal and Brian (BEJAY) Neal pulled 181hp, and 189tq with just an intake and y-pipe on a 96 GXE 5-speed with 121K miles on the clock. Brian (BEJAY) pulled 188hp and 207tq with his 97 SE 5-speed with all the bolt-ons..and a gforce ecu.

NOW for the bad news....I, with my FULLY N/A modded 97 SE 5-speed pulled only 160hp and 174tq....these are WORSE than STOCK 5-speed numbers...I'm running on brand new plugs...and just replaced my knock sensor....my compression is great in every cylinder...my cat was recently replaced with an R/T unit, and I've tried everything that I can think of to get my car running right again. the only think I can think of now is the injectors....rear bank injectors to be exact....I NEED HELP...anyone have any ideas at all for me???

if you are running colder plugs .. those numbers are normal.. colder plugs will bring you at least 20 hp less

Are you running a Walbarro fuel pump? If so, are you using an aftermarket FPR? If not, you could be running rich and killing your power...

Sounds like your suffering from slow VQ syndrome . Try doing a power balance test to see if a cylinder is running weaker than the others. If that doesn't work get another ECU and check your EGR valve for build up.

yup i forgot about that, rich makes you run slower. if you have a walbro pump even a few PSI can make you have less.

well I'm at about 38psi at idle...though this varies from about 36-39psi depending on if the car is warm or not....the thing that bothers me is even with the adjustable FPR I'm still getting about 52-53 psi at WOT.....so...I dunno....

You need to go lower on your FP. You should be at 34psi at idle.

$hit! there's a bunch of posts on these forums in which people say 38 idle, 43wot...but that just didn't seem right...only 5psi difference for idle vs. WOT....well I guess I'll turn it down tomorrow...and see where I am then.

there's your problem right there, that's about 5psi high and i bet that's what killing your N/A power, the downfall of NOS is it makes you slow NA.

With a nissan CONSULT II. Another way of doing it is to unplug the fuel injectors/ignition coils to each cylinder. If one of the 2 isn't working 100% the engine won't run as worse as if they are working 100%.
