brake noise

ok my brakes are squealing ... again!

when in reverse it makes this fingernail-on-chalkboard sound.

when forward, a light scraping sound. sometimes stops if i cram on the brakes, then starts up in a minute or two.

how to fix? i dont want to bother to take it in to the dealer for this

thanks guys

it's just the front passenger side wheel

You probably need to get the brake grease that comes in the little packets at Autozone. I've taken all four calipers apart to grease all of the sliding parts. The left rear is still giving me a problem though.

Grease is not the real answer, all it really does is cover up a bigger problem.

Anthony, have you inspected the brake pads? Are they in good condition? If there in good condition, what kind of pads are you using? If they are oem nissan pads and if they have lots of life left theres probably something wrong with your calipers or something. I have never had squekey brakes on any of my maxes or I30 Let me know the details.

They are in good condition if they have atleast 1mm of brake pad left and they should also be worn evenly(perfectly flat).
