I have a slightly inclined drive way and I used my e-brake about 2 days ago cause it was colder than s**t I start my car in the morning and let it warm up for like 10 min. I'm getting ready to go to school so I put the car in reverse and it felt as if something was holding me.. the car wouldn't go by itself. I guess the e-brake line was frozen and it just held the brakes there... I drove the car about 10 feet up and down the driveway not knowing what was going on, I thought at first that the e-brake froze to the rotors, but that wasn't the case... After pulling up and down the e-brake reapetedly, it started to let loose, 10 min later it was fine...
Just a note of caution for you guys during this cold season. DON'T USE YOUR E-BRAKE if you don't have to

That's strange that it would freeze. It's not uncommon, but unless you live in really freezing climates, you should always use the e-brake. Saves 1st and R for manual transmissions, and saves the parking pawl on automatics.

Also, setting your ebrake prevents thieves from towing your car away unnoticed, since they'll have to break into your car (setting off the alarm) to free up one set of wheels to tow the car.
