werid noise comming from trans

werid noise comming from trans

i have a weird noise comming from my trans. its kinda like a whinning noise, not really like a grinding noise but a whinning noise. its also leaking i belive trans fluid. would could this be?? the gears in the trans the throw out berring in the clutch or what i have no clue it just started happing the other day any ideas?

Also a side note anyone know of a program you can run to be able to get through proxy servers my stupid school blocks everything, like aol instant messanger, yahoo games

Might be differential bearing going out...

My 97 had a similar sound and it turns out the differential bearing was bad causing the seal to leak and the drive shaft to make noise upon accelaration/deceleration. Just a thought.

Ahh yea, another possible case of the imfamous differential bearings. Check out my post about it either by searching, or in the MAXFAQ thread at the top of the 4 gen forum.

ahhhhhhh guess what the problem is....... the differential bearings

grrrrr, at least i shot for the extended warr. so everything is covered yippie
