more pics..
no mufflers..
crushing the spare tire well with jackstands, hydrolics jacks, a couple hammers, and some good human aggression...
this is the final crushed spare tire well.. you should check the other pictures to see how badly we crushed it...

This is where you can see how the two pipes had to be run for clearance issues and to get the angles on the mufflers..
The first muffler installed on the left side.
Both mufflers installed, the one on the right needs to have a little more angle out and about an inch of the tip out more from the bumper, that will be done one day this week

Re: last ones...
The total cost of operations here was around 350 give or take a few bucks.. mufflers are from Jeff (shadow) @ AP-Signworks... and all of the work was done at a local midas.
All of the piping was mandrel bent and very cleanly done. the entire process took about 4 hours and it is so worth it. i cant really tell yet, but it seems like i have gained a little bit of low end power back, the CAI should help a lot when it comes in this week or next.
These sound really loud and raspy now because the exhaust hasnt had enough time to clear out, but i think it is going to sound very deep and have a great growl when it's all said and done.
feel free to ask any questions, and for all you haters.. sit down and shut up, i don't care what you think.

Anyways I know the sound your talking about..but it seems the raspyness is only on cold start-ups..when the car warms up it muffles and gets deeper.
Oh your running 2.25 piping ? And no resonator ? What about the Y and cat..

oh you know what Jason.. now that Craig mack posted... i figured out why mine was unbareable compared to yours.. I have no CAT.. i have nothing from the engine back.. thats why mine was so damn loud and abnxious.. no cat.. no resonator..

That looks great Bigsadler! Thanks for taking the time and doing the great write up, this should be a Faq-U for sure! In a little bit I just might do duals my self, I have always loved them.
Heres a question for you guys. Wouldent 2 mufflers make the car quiter then a car with equal air flow that only has 1 muffler? I mean muffeler dampen the sound saound, right
Sprint, do the clam clam chowder song you wrote for me

hate to break it to ya but your exhaust isn't mandrel bent. Mandrel bending is a type of bend that prevents the diameter of the exhaust pipe from changeing. So if the pipe is 2.25" it will be 2.25" through the bends....

Is it a good idea to crush the spare tire comp. Is there a cleaner way to do it. Something could bend with it? Can I just attach the piping to stock exhaust and add a mufler like the V6 accord do.

notice where the dia of the pipe gets smaller at the bends. that's press bent..not mandrel bent.

just to clear things up..
mandrel bending pipes is a way to bend piping without the "ripples"... mandrel bends are not just bends with the same diameter all around.
if this statement i just mentioned is false, why is their machine called a "Mandrel Pipe Bender".. i understand it is not the "mandrel bent" piping you get from aftermarket companies, but how much flow is really getting slowed down, at most i have lost .25" inches at certain points.
thanks for all the compliments, i appreciate the people who dislike it keeping their mouths shut.

I also figured if I could take that out it'd give quite a bit of extra room.

Look at a greddy exhaust - mandrel bent - same size throughout if i remember correctly

keep in mind if you're going for max flow that .25 in a few places will slow the exhaust down. if you weren't really into flow then why get the so call mandrel bent piping when u can go so much cheaper w/ the crush bent/non mandrel?
aftermarket or not..it's not mandrel bent. i mean look at WSP..their pipes are mandrel bent and they do not have the reduction in size like u have.
just want to inform you and if u want to go back to the shop and try to get some $ back you have a case.

gotcha.. okay. i have no interest in getting money back or anything like that, i guess the guy was told to tell people that or whatever their campaign team says. but yes it was the one with the dyes and the press.. .25" i guess doesnt matter to me because its mostly for looks anyway, this car is too heavy to start racing (with my budget).

yeah i wasn't trying to be a ***** or anything like that. i was just trying to inform you. if you look at CAI's they're mandrel bent. The diameter never changes. also the one with ripples is crush bent...not sure if anyone mentioned that. if you were going for performance that little diameter change would hurt you in the long run but since you're not worried then who cares. just lookin out if you really did fork out for mandrel bent piping...
