We really need some support for the 2002's... I'm starting to get worried that we'll become an after thought once the new Maximas come out.

As far as body kits go, I would like to see something classy and refined, while at the same time accentuating the car's powerful presence. Something that gives the side profile and rear-end a sleeker appearance. I agree with earlier comments that the front bumper on the 2002 is already aggressive looking, so it should be left alone.

Of all the pics I've seen in this thread so far, this is the one I like the best, and the one I'd pay for or something similar: http://www.hotimportnights.com/galle...1/DSCN6528.jpg

Can you make this happen, altima8?

i liked many of the suggestions made, and if possible we should take a vote in the next couple of days, so we can try to get a kit done by summer time.

just my 2 cents

If we find out what style that kit is on the Lexus I could do that one. All we need is ten buyers and it will be done in a month.

Jeff

I'm glad the voice of reason is prevailing in here finally....lol

The kit on that GS just looks like a stock front bumper with a front lip molded onto it. I think that kit would look nasty on the max, I don't like it at all.

I would love to see some support for kits for the 3rd gen... I like to two photoshops that were already posted for the 3rd gen... The sensi kit or what ever it was and the one on the red car.....

I was thinking about trying to do a custom evo kit( kinda like the one that is made for the altima) for my 3rd gen, but i don't know.... If there is a kit being made I may be interested......

Support the 3rd gens.... :-)

I also like the GS style for 5th gens. I think that Accord is too busy!

Ok guys,
I'm starting the GD for 3rd gen Skyline replica kits tonight...check that area in about 2-3 hours.

4th gen will be next, followed by 5th. Those should be started this week as well.

Altima8, in addition to the GS kit, do you have access to anything resembling a Skyline?

Sorry for the "check GD in 2-3 hours" thing....I had to run out last night...I'll try to find the appropriate pics tonight.

As for the fiberglass stuff, many of the best kits are made of fiberglass, for example even original Black Widow and VIS kits are all fiberglass. There are different grades though, some are very weak, others are as strong as urethane. I would love to offer urethane to those who are dead-set against fiberglass for whatever reason, but the fact is that the mold costs thousands of dollars, and I would require almost 30 orders to make it cost effective. It can be done, but I highly doubt I'll ever see the day that 300 people want the same kit for the same car! lol...anyways.....please let me know if fiberglass is a consideration, or if everyone wants urethane or nothing. Keep in mind also that it is almost 35% cheaper for fiberglass. The kits I'll be making are a lot better than those pieces of **** that sell on eBay for Civics at $200...so as for driving carefully, as Nismoleee said, it's no more necessary that with urethane in this case. Many people will tell you that one advantage to fiberglass is the fact that it is easily repaired, where as urethane is garbage once it's cracked badly enough.

jeff,

thanks for the update. i personally wouldn't mind a fiberglass kit just make sure that it is a good quality fiberglass not like the one from Sarona Designs, which will crack if you fart in your car.

will you also be selling individual pieces? just would like to know.

thanks

YUP...individual pieces will be $195 plus shipping. We use 5 layer fiberglass...most people think 7 layer is best (I just found out we switched to 5 this week) but in fact with quality control testing we found that the added flexibility with 5 layers actually responds better to impact than 7, which is SO thick that there is no give to it whatsoever. (technical jargon...lol)

I have a fiberglass Sarona kit, and though I hate them with a passion, I haven't cracked my front bumper yet. The rear one is another story, but that's more of a design issue rather than a fiberglass issue. I scrape the front one every day on a speedbump in my apartments, and it has not cracked yet. The paint on the bottom is gone, but that's a given.

Most body kits on the market are fiberglass. Cheaper to make, easier to make, smaller volumes, more flexibility in production, etc. But they are fine if the kit is made well.

Beautiful! Does he have pics of the side and rear-end? That's the best front-end I've seen so far. My vote goes for either this kit, or the GS kit for the 5th Gen.

I don't know if you guys have seen this yet, but here are pics of the sides and rear from MaxedOut2G's sig:

Ok 5th Gener's, it's time to rally around and make this happen. Vote early and often for the Maxima GT-R Kit.

Altima8, If you check the 5th Gen board, there's a new body kit thread there as well. I'm sure there are atleast 10 people if not more who want the Skyline kit.

GT-R Kit

GT-R kit all around for all generation Maximas. Its beautiful and a sure profit getter. Definitely fiberglass, I would not want a sagging urethane bumper in a year. Just drive carefully.

I think we just about figured it out.

GT-R kit is a must. Other kits are too extreme and people won't all like them as much.

ok...lets assume the following...altima8 begins producing 5 layer-fiberglass Maxima GT-R kit for 5th gen, looking very similar if not identical to the one MaximaZero has put together for us, how many people would definately buy it? i just want to know where we stand

I am down to get an R-34 kit for fourth gen. all day. Can you quote a price w/ shipping to east coast. Also, what about blinkers? Wil factory fit or will new ones be included?

don't get me wrong i kinda like the r-34 kit, but i don't agree that it should be made for all gens. we have an opportunity to get any kit that we want made. and were going to waste this opportunity by choseing the same kit for all gens?
lets take advantage and have three diferent kits at least.

i personally like the lexus kit the best.

just my 2 cents.

you make a good point. i would also like to add that certain kits flow better with specific body styles. the r34 kit matches up very nicely to the 5th gens because of how their headlamps are squared towards the nose of the car similar to the skyline's. though it flows well with the 5th gen, i doubt it would with the older styling of a 3rd or even 4th gen.

ive noticed that many people who do bodywork to their car, do it just for the sake of doing it. they dont take the time to see if what theyre doing actually looks good.
