I saw a black Maxima yesterday with a big red SE-R badge slapped on the back of the trunk. Other than that it looked and sounded pretty stock. Can't say I thought much of how that badge looked on there. Oh well, maybe he had an s/c to back it up, but when I jammed past him he just sat there, and he only caught up because I was in slow lane traffic for the off-ramp ...

I had one on the outside of my trunk but I took it off after making a bet and losing . I still have one in my engine bay though...

Umm... I am Asian, and let me tell you it has nothing to do with the Asian people. It has to do with where the cars are from... Japan. So if anything the "rice" icon is associated with the country of Japan, not Asian people.

Rice was coined from the term "rice rockets," referring to the fast bikes built by Japanese companies. A compliment if anything. Funny how things change.

hey, i am asian, and i always use the term rice to describe cars....i don't find it racist........

it's just like all those rappers in their songs saying "n*gga this and n*gga that"... i think it did orignate from talking bout asians tho

 

i think the GTR badges are the same thing as the civics who put on Si or type r ect badges. gtr is not for the maxima!

Rice Rocket has never been a compliment. I've never heard somebody say "Oh, look at that superb Rice Rocket." It was always some domestic driving white male who would say "Those *******ed Rice Rockets..." So I don't see it as much of a strech. But regardless, Rice is Rice and that's that.
