something weird i read about the SC430

it runs the quarter in 15.4 at 97mph. isnt that an awfully high trap speed for a 15.4. seems like most the guys here that run 15.4s barely break into 90.

magazine tests...
didnt the 2k2 max clock in at about 15.5 or something? you're right though, that is pretty slow if it has more than 300 HP.

Weight perhaps? power:weight ratio on the SC430 is roughly 12.8lbs/hp. Torque is amazing at 11.8.

Then again there's other factors involved.

who cares. would you rather drive a fast maxima or another car that is trash on the inside but just as fast? they may be similar in performance but the maxima has the upper hand overall.

True that. I was one of the few who got first hand choice in getting the Alt when it finally hit the market. Outside is cool, inside... leaves a lot to be desired.

Cars like that aren't really geared for the 1/4 mile. Just like the Q45, LS430 etc. They're geared for comfortable cruising. They get thru the 1/4 mile quickly and once at speeds above 100 mph, not much can touch them.

Our Maximas can get thru the 1/4 quite fast, but lose some of that oomph above 100 mph. It's still fast but not like those cars mentioned above. I met a GS400 on the highway at 90 mph. I expected him to beat me . . .by a bit. Wound up wasting my *** like I was nothing
