Does the shop notice this problem while they are balancing, or is it just on the freeway?

One time when I got new tires they had to balance them twice to get it right.

Try rotating the tires front/back. Then if the vibs stop, it must be one of the two front tires/wheels.

answers...

no they all balance ok, one looks slightly bent though (rear wheel).

i think i'll ask him to swap the rears to the front and vice versa...see what that does,

Robert, that's probably a slightly bent wheel....

Like Jeff said rotating them front to back and then possibly a cross rotation for the wheel on the 'suspicious' feeling axle will probably pinpoint which one is giving you probs....
