Those with CAI please read

has anyone ever tried to CAI with the stock part inbetween the throtle body and the MAF? I was thinking of trying this to see if it may be just the upper part of the CAI that causes less highend? I don't know I just figure I would ask

That part is just the resonator. Doesn't do anything except dampen out the intake sound a little.. It's the long tube of the cai that makes it loose highend..

the problem with the high end is that the air is so far away and at high end it wants "quick" air. leaving the stock parts would in my opinion make the low end worse(what the Cai is good at due to givin the air velocity) and then also making the high end worse. The only thing to solve both is to have a dual runner which i have been workin on for a while now, and finalllly am headin to a motorcylcle intake machining company tomorrow to get the parts made i made it but it didnt fit cuz i had to use a lot of pre made parts and it was too big, so now i can get the parts made inch for inch, i will keep you guys and gals updated.

what exactly is the theory behind the dual runner? have a valve that opens for the SI once you hit certain RPM? or what?
