Question... My computer is running my battery low I think and once I add an amp or two or three forget it. =) My question is, I know alot of people have a second battery in their car but how does it recharge? Can someone explain this to me?

Thanks.

in my old car (1994 honduh prelude) i added a second battery just for my stereo and things i added on b/c when i was driving with my stereo blasting the lights would dim like crazy, especially at a stop. I had a second alternator put in that i found at a junk yard and mounted the second battery in the trunk. i had this done for me so i cant tell you how to do it but i want to do this on my MAX as well so any help would be appreciated for me too

Or you can

Add a dual battery isolator. I had one in my old car made by phoenix gold($195.00). It allowed one alternator to recharge two batteries without the added expense of two alernators, custom bracketry, and trying to find belts that fit. good luck

You will need a battery isolator if you use just 1 alternator. If you just hook them up without one they will try to recharge each other and they will kill each other pretty fast.

by adding just a battery isolator,

Doesn't it just put more load on the alternator and eventually kill it?... this is what my local audio shop told me because, if you have a lot of current draw, whether u have one battery or 2, by adding another battery you are just increasing the load. i was told that the best upgrade would be a new alternator with a higher output
