What other cars are equipped with 17" wheels from the factory?

I want to look into possibility of finding good used 17" tires at the local junkyard. I know that 16"s like 225x50R16 are in abundance for 10 bux a peace. What cars are equipped with 17" wheels from the factory and what size of tires are they equipped with?

Many BMW's, AMG and sport-packaged Merecedes, Cobra Mustangs, new SS Camaros and WS6 Firebirds, some Lexus', Very few Audi's, older Vipers, Corvettes, Infiniti I30t wheels look GOOD, I think Supra's/96+3000GT's were, Porsche's, some SUV's do but I doubt you'll want their heavy-*** wheels. Basically, look for European cars and performance-packaged domestics, that's where the trend got started, if I think of some more, I'll let you know.

Cobra Mustangs are good candidates for 4th Gens with their (optional??) 245/45/17 tires.

ahem, I want to clear up some misunderstanding here. I want too see what makes and models are equipped with 225x50R17 or 235x45R17 tires as their original equipment.

Personally I wouldn't put $10 tires on my car. Heck, wheels for inline skates cost more than that. 3-series with sport package kinda fit your criteria. Golf GTI has 225/40-17 which is too small for the Max. We're mostly Maxima people here so we think 205/65-15, 215/55-16, 235/45-17, and 235/40-18. See any trend from 15 to 18? A tire shop would better be able to answer your question and give you a laundry list of what size came with what car, after all that's what the +1 and +2 concept is all about.

I had only positive experience with buying a tire that costs 80 bucks for only 5 dollars. I feel pretty comfortable doing it, because I know how to inspect a tire. One can save several hundred dollars by buying used tires from a junkyard. Look at prices of those tires, they are through the roof, 100 bucks for a basic 17" tire!
