NEW record for stock 2K2 6spd

Okay I just got back from the track. It was a beautiful day with a temp of 59 degrees and low humidity with the sun shining. Well, here is the new best....
R/T .654
60' 2.275
330 6.142
1/8 9.272
MPH 79.01
1/4 14.230
MPH 99.32

My other bests were 14.268@98.56mph and 14.278@99.12mph. I ran 14.30X all day. It was indeed a great day. I had 1/4 tank of gas and removed the spare, other than that....all stock.

ed's car is fast. My first time ever in a 6spd max and I ran a 14.6 @ 97 mph with a passenger, and I dont even drive a manual but once in a while so I am rusty. I also ran a 15.0 after that, because I missed a shift. That car is too quiet, you cant even tell when to shift by ear. Work on your 60 ft time and you will hit a 14.1 or 14.0 easy.

Will do it tomorrow afternoon at school. I do a quick feather from about 3K and shift at 6.5K instead of redline (6.7K).

Congrats Ed!!!!!!!

I wish my car wasn't sick, or myself for that matter, I wanted to go bad!

With that m.p.h. your car could go 13.9 with a 2.1 60 ft.

Very impressive!

Hopefully my car will be fixed this week. I am feeling better and I'll get back on it.

What do you mean by feather? So you bring the rpms to 3K and slowly release the clutch while applying more throttle? So is it like slipping the clutch?
Everytime I lunch around 3K, my tires start to spin.

Thanks.

Be slipping I mean feather. Hold the revs at 3K and slip. Dont give it gas until you feel it hook up than floor it. Just make sure you keep the revs steady and dont let them drop below 3K during the launch.

Post the slip

Great times, I've underestimated the powah of the VQ in 3.5 form. Two 14.2 runs is wonderful!

I'm not discrediting your run in anyway, but what track is this? It seems like a pretty nice track because I've got a friend that has a 2000 Prelude with the same mods and he runs consistent 15.2s@92mph (2.3 60') and your Lude runs 14.4s@97mph. VeeTec has run there and he gets 14.4s with just a y-pipe and intake, Victum has run there and gotten a 14.9 out of a stock 98 SE 5 speed, and 96Sleeper ran there and got a 14.9 out of a auto 4th gen which is only the second 95-01 automagic into the 14s NA. It's all most impressive.

Sure it counts! He was NA and pulled that time. Slicks are for race tracks so why not use them! So 14 flat (would like to know all the other numbers 60ft, trap etc..) is the record for an NA Max? Then Maximus1000 then theblue and Don?

The track is at Steele, AL. It is right outside of Gadsden. The days I have gotten really good numbers have been really low humidity and high pressure, aka ideal. As for the Prelude time, it is all in the launch. I launch at around 5.5K rpms. I've seen Preludes nearly identical to mine run 16 flat consistently. Mad skillz yo!

Don't bother with SCC even if you sent them a video they'll make excuses like how they know your car doesn't have mods or NOS for that matter. They won't be happy till someone rips a 13/14's in their face. So SCC can kiss my (_|_)
