Mobil, Amoco, Shell or Citgo

Obviously you would only put 93 octane in your max, but what brand does everyone like to use? Does the brand really matter since it comes for the same barrel of gas anyway. Any thoughts?

is there any way at all we can distinguish the quality of the gas among manufacturers? about a year and a half ago my fuel pump seized. the dealer blamed it on mobil gas which was known to clog toyota honda and nissan pumps in our area. i went along with it because it saved me a $600 repair, but it just so happened that i filled up with mobile gas that tank.

Mobil, Exxon and Texaco. I use Sunoco every now and then but it seems my car doesn't run good when using their fuel.

I like EZ Gas myself. Just kidding, but there is a gas station near the Lincoln Tunnel that has a sign which ripped off EZ Pass' logo. Kinda like the web developers in our co., I don't understand them, seem to have a disregard for copyrighted stuff.

Anyway, imho you can't go wrong with Mobil. Citgo tends to cost less, as does Gulf, Amoco seems ok, we don't have Shell, does it still exist? I don't trust the no name brands because I question whether their tanks/pumps 1) contain 100% gasoline 2) are free of contaminants 3) their employees are very sleazy. Some of the name brands are sleazy too, when you use your gas rebate card, it doesn't show up on your statement because they switched it to another credit card slip. Always has some weird-*** name and "enterprise" after it. Your wife or g/f will think you went to a "club" when she sees the statement! (they did it to me in Ft. Lee NJ)

Gasoline retailing is very shady no matter how you slice it. Just look at how the price went up 14 cents last week. Can you say artificial manipulation?

What needs to happen is they should color the fuel the way they used to so you know'll what your getting.

Shell

Using Shell for 8+ years in all my VQ engines since it is near my office. Tried WaWa gas and the 2000 I30 didn't like it...I could feel a loss in performance. (Those from Phila area know WaWa)

The last time I pumped Wawa the pump overflowed and put about 1.5 gallons on the ground. When I told the fat clerk behind the counter she said "you're not getting any money back." Eventually they gave me some money back and they blocked off that pump. Their gas tends to be cheaper than everyone else's. We have Shell in Philly?

Gas

I have been using Mobile ever since but with gas prices going so high just wondering if Amoco or Shell would be okay since they seem to be cheaper. Thanks for all the input guys.
