Don't believe it when they say installing an EGT is easier than an A/F... I ended up taking out the radiator fans, y pipe to install the EGT probe... The water temp sensor was much easier. Now I've got warning/peak hold gauges although I think I miss my boost gauge.

Well anyways... all done after a lot of dremeling...

Where did you put the probe? Did it have a weld-in adapter, or what? BTW, nice looking gauges.

Looks good Chung. What are you going to do with your boost gauge? Where did you put your water temp probe?

Here some pics of my EGT probe for those who are intersted.

It uses a 1/8 PT threaded insert... mounted at the collector where the front 3 cylinders meet but NOT on the y pipe... see pics below... No cutting of the heat shield was required...

My boost gauge didn't come with a plastic clear face... I may send it back to Autometer (I didn't want to do it as I was still using it). I'm gonna put 3 52mm gauges beneath the radio (Volt, Oil Press, and probably A/F or Boost)...

Here's a picture of the water temp probe holder (36mm unit) I needed to reangle the probe holder after this shot, it was too close to MAF:

(Should I do a write up page? )

Question... What EGT range are you guys getting? I seemed to have peaked out around 720 oC with 7lbs of boost.

Also, what temperatures do you see for the water temp? I read around 85-90 oC driving around town on a cool day...

Re: Re: Re: Nevermind. I found it.

All my readings are in F.

EGT peaks out around 1400F.
Water temp is around 180F after driving around for 30 mins.

I put in an Autometer Ultra-Lite EGT gauge from Summit Racing. I paid $103.99 for the gauge (#4365) and $96.95 for the 3/16" probe (#5244). I've got it mounted in a dual gauge pod on the A-pillar with a fuel pressure gauge (#4363) of the same brand/style. Nice, but not as nice as your Omoris.

It's all good... unless you have a turbo setup, the peak EGT readings won't fluctuate so as long as it gives you the information you need, it works. It's nice to have warning and peak hold but hardly necessary. We don't have boost creep or have the possibility of a wastegate failing like turbo systems.

Just curious as to why you went with Omori rather than Greddy or Apexi?

Thanks

My brother got a hookup from the Supra forum. We bought like 7 60mm gauges... plus the ones I got are blue backlighting to be different.
