3 Years with the same wipers, you must be kidding right? I change mine every 6 months. I use the rubber inserts from the dealer, they work great.

What that black stuff on the W/S?

Driving to SC from VA is was raining most of the way and my damn wipers were jumping all over the place. Real anoying. Then I noticed these black mark on the w/s and when I stopped at the gas station, that crap wouldnt come off! WTF? It was up in the corner on the drivers side. I'm going to get new ones too, but I've only had the car for about 6 months. I got it brand new and already have 20200 miles on it.

clee130 is on the right track. wipers come in range of prices, but when it boils down to it, they all last about the same.

Depends on what you buy. The NGK's are at a good price.

Shouldn't this thread have run around October? Oh, wait, I'm in California ... it rains in the summer in other parts of the country!

I just got the cheap Trico/Tridon wipers that come in green packages. I got them mainly because the wipers (not the blades) are made of low-lying square plastic blocks rather than a bunch of thin metal arms. My old (probably OEM) wipers worked okay, but the arms were so worn out and they were so tall, they'd flop over and smack the windshield when they wiped so they were really loud. The Trico blades were cheap, stiffer, and lower profile. They're much quieter and the blades are moly coated. I went with two 20" blades because they're lower than the 21" size (different construction) and 21" were discontinued anyway. I'm happy so far

I always get an Anco for the left at Wal-Mart, great price, $3.97. But they don't stock the 21" for the right, so I have to spend $11.99 on a Bosch. I think they are the Excel or something and cost a few $ more than yours.

I had bad luck with 2 sets of Bosch, one I literally had to throw out in a month. But the last Bosch is doing better than the Anco. I think it has to do with how long they've been on the shelf. So keep that in mind, you may buy new wipers and have them not last long, in which case the cheaper the better. Darn shame Wal-Mart doesn't stock a 21"......
