What are the pros and cons of getting one of those kits that just compresses the spring a little? Its basically just like a clamp and they lower the car about an inch or so. They only cost a few dollars each wheel. I already have replaced shocks and want to lower it easy, not by putting in new springs. Will the ride be terrible or just a little worse than getting lowered springs and doing it right?

Do not do that.. do yourself a favor and get a set of springs. You will compeletely change the spring rate and create additonal dead coils that was not designed to be there. Just go out and buy a set of spring. It's beyound right comfort, it's safety... think what would happen if one of those brackets popped off while you are going down the freeway at 70mph?
