Red Nissan Emblem on my black red/clear @ss...what do yall think??

I just thought about it, and I think this might look really cool!

A LONG time ago I did a gold --> chrome emblem conversion and had some spare emblems left over. One day I got bored and sprayed an emblem red with plasti-cote engine enamel spray.

Well, since I have a black maxima w/clear/red tails and a spoiler w/red led, I thought this would look really cool, so I taped it up where my shaven emblem spot was and it really looks cool IMHO.

What do you guys think about this? I mean, it compliments my other mods well and fills the spot were I f#cked up w/touch up paint (blotchy spot)...but I am afraid it is border-line ricey. I like my max clean and musclular (somewhat ), and don't want this to ruin it.

In the end I will most likely do it but I want yalls opinions.

Also, I am gonna need some sticky tape like the kind nissan used...any idea's where to get that exact tape??

Also, I don't want this to look cheep..any idea where to get quality red paint that will look good and last? How much you think it would cost me for the body shop to paint that little emblem red? Maybe i'll do that..

Thanks for your advice guys..

No, not a backround, I mean where the actual emblem is painted red.

Nah dude...I don't have a digi just prints and old fashened scanning which I can't take photo's at 9 at night and get them 1 hour developed

Couldn't someone photochop it?

Painting them black would be useless since my car is black.

I've thought about doing the emblem on the front grill in red, like what you did. Put some attitude up front so they can see you coming in their rear view mirror ...

Mine isnt red

I also thought about it...but it isn't for me. I am thinking of doing it black now becuase the chrome doesn't stand apart from the silver mesh...

I have my rear maxima lettering spray painted red but we left it off and going with the shaved trunk look for now. If I get bored looking at the rear then I may eventually stick the piece on.

How did you do the red inside that emblem Maxgurl?
put a peice of red tape underneath the emblem where the holes for the lettering are and then stick the emblem over it.

That looks cool. The other thing I've thought might look good is backlight above and below the word "Nissan" inside the front emblem using blue LEDs.

Ya. Some cars come stock like this, I know my sister's boyfriends sunfire lights up "Pontiac" at night in red. But I think for us to do a LED type deal would cost a pretty penny.

Does anyone know where I can get the sticky adhesive that comes on the back of the nissan emblems?

That's easy. Auto parts store, 3M tape. I walked into Pep Boys and got some last week.

Ya...I just picked up a new hose, red tape, and 3M emblem adhesive. I got a liquid form, not tape...it says strong bond and the guy said it wouldn't be permenant in case I needed to take it off...so hopefully this will work!

I just did a rough draft and did clee's red backround deal (w/o the red Nissan lettering) and it looks TIGHT. Matches everything, looks really clean, and covers my blotchy touch up

Red on the black would look nice. That is my favorite color coombination and use it for stuff all the time. Worse comes to worse you can try it and if it looks bad to you take it off. If it looks good to you and bad to people on here who cares, as long as you like it.

:o)

Shave all the emblyms off or paint them body color. Go for the clean look.

Don't forget the keyhole...

I saw some LEDs that hook up to any 12v power supply for about $23 at Pep Boys ...

How do you take off the front emblem without damaging it? Carefully, I guess; it also seems taped; I thought it had screws but those prongs don't have anything on them.

The front one is easy as sin. No screws, the prongs are only for guidence when putting it on. It just has adhesive, you take a flathead screwdriver and pry it off gently.
