Y pipe question - Warpspeed

I think I want just a little bit more power from Max so I figure the Y pipe is the way to go. Looking through threads from my searches I've decided on Warpspeed. What I'm curious about is where you feel the power from this pipe. Is it across the entire RPM range, like normal driving range 2 - 3K RPM's will I feel more pull? I have this dead spot around 2,800 - 3,200, then it pulls like mad. Will the Y pipe help in that area? My SE-L is a Cali spec car as well which I'm sure doesn't help matters much.

Also, is there any loss of power in the low end? Such as what a pop charger does? (or so some say) My intake is stock except for the K&N filter and I don't plan on changing things there. My exaust is stock and will stay that way except for the Y pipe. I want this car to run as quiet as stock as I can keep it.

Thanks for the input guys!

I have a WSP pipe for my 3rd gen, so it might be a little different for you. I notice a power gain from 2k RPM up, with the biggest increase between 3-5k. There is NO loss at any RPM with this mod -- only gains. I know for me it was the biggest HP upgrade I've done. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

nkmaxseltd , are you an Auto or 5 speed. Cause with auto you will notice a loss of low end just a little. So that can change where you feel it from.

So which are you Auto or 5 speed?

Does warpspeed have a cali spec for the 99?

Also, I didn't notice any low end power loss. No matter what it's still worth it, cause you get more power from 3k+

Look at stock dynos vs with Y-pipe, the Y-pipe is good for around 10-15 hp at the wheels, and that's usually through the whole RPM range.

Automagic here, are you sure there is loss on the low end? I really don't want any loss, I don't race my baby much but could do with 10 - 15 more horsies from time to time.

Y-pipe

It's bull ****,The mechanical guys who make statments like this have not had experience with the y-pipe. Several owners on this forum had had them on their cars for over 3 years now. Hundreds have been sold. The only negative things that I can think of is the decreased milage because now you will drive faster, and the possibility of getting a dent in your pipe, but this is only a concern with the 3rd Gen cars as they have only one o2 sensor, located just in front of the Cat.This can potentially cause one cylinder bank to run rich, which in turn could cause the unaffected bank to run too lean. 3rd Gen guys should not run their car with a big dent in the front down pipe.
Get the pipe on and enjoy the added power. Call our 800#, Dallas may be able to walk you throuh it. He has done LOTS of installs on his car and others.

I have a Warpspeed Y on my 95 GXE with a JWT intake. Makes more power over 2,000 (by the feel of my seat) but feels like it was turbod over 3,000 rpm. In 1st WOT at anything over 3,000 just sends me spinning. Before I would be close with Acura TLs now I spank them pretty good. Plus the car has just a slight growl b/c of the extra air flowing through the JWT.

I watched a 95 GLE dyno today with the only mod being a Warpspeed non-mandrel bent y-pipe. The GLE made 12fwhp over it's stock dyno plot. I think those numbers speak for themselves.
