I have an urgent question about subwoofers, please help. I am seriously considering buying 2 12" Kicker Competition VR subs. How are these? Do they sound good? The price is $175 with a box, and they are 6 months old. Please help, I don't want to make a mistake buying them. Thanks.

 

I know Doug, I'm sorry . But I'm thinkin bout buying them in a few hours, and I need some advice first.

 

I use to have four of them in my max and had to take them out because I was loosing my hearing and waking everyone up,
That sounds like a great deal I paid $180 for each one of mine {new} I wish I got a good deal like that,also I have blown tons of speakers but not any Kickers I use to have a total of 14 Kicker speakers two capacitors 2 amps a optima battery MTX crossover and 4 Kicker cross overs and about $300 worth of wires basically 2000watts yikes 150+DB's.I say get them the only speakers that are better are kicker solo barics and maybe JLW6's.Good Luck

 

I remember my kicker Resolution sets were rated best speaker of 98 by car Audoi,I know we were talking about the Comps but I figured I would just metion that.How much do those diamond audio run for a 12" I have been thinking about puting in a stealth box and I wonder if those diamond would put a JLW6 to shame.

 

Thanks for your help guys. I actually ended up buying a 15" Orion XTR. I heard these are damn good subs! I'll be running 300 watts RMS to it. What do you think, I got it for $150 with a custom made box.

 

Actually, I didn't end up buying the 15". I met the guy at a shopping center, and saw the sub and box. The box had water in it, and had obviously been in a grage for years. The sub had paint chips on it, and was equally disgusting. Oh well, I guess I'll keep looking. Hell, what's wrong with me, the 2 12" JBLS I have now aint that bad at all!!
