Dunlop W-10 Tire, need opinions please

I just ordered 215/55/16 Dunlop W-10 tires for my Maxima. The question is what means tuner size? They were advertised as VR and ZR speed ratting, all season. I got pretty good deal for them $276 with free shipping. Let me know what do you think? I will mount them on Maxima 16 inch wheels from 2000 Maxima. My maxima is 1997 GLE, basically I will be moving from 15 to 16 inch wheels.

I had them on my car for about a year, I didn't like them very much. They are very loud on the highway and they wear out very fast. I am not the most spirited driver either. I think they have a great look but they were not the best tire IMO. They also have terrible traction in snow/slush conditions, which I have a lot of in Salt Lake.

I have em on my max now.. and they are not the most quiet tire i have had but not too bad to me. I like em and think the handle great. I dont drive my max too hard so for me thier fine. I love the way the look as well. I have 235 40 18's. So far they are wearing ok...

I have them on my 98se (215-55-16) They are noisy on highways or when they are driven at a steady speed. Handling is good. They were cheap and the tread pattern looks great but if I could decide again I would pick something else

I just bought these in 215/55/16 and they are loud on the highway. They seem to grip pretty well, but the acid test comes when the car goes to Limerock on Tuesday.

what do you mean by acid test? explain it. Please. i do not care about noise on road! As long they are good in performance and in rain/wet roads here in NYC. No need for s+w ratings, since here in NYC we almost never see snow or real winter in last 4 years.

By acid test I mean that they are going to be pushed to the limit and beyond. Limerock is a roadcourse in Southwest CT, so when I drive there I will be extracting every inch of performance those tires have to give.

If I were looking for the 215/55-16, I'd be curious about the Dunlop SP Sport A2. Excellent specs. Interesting, the Bridgestone RE950 has come down big in price, while the Dunlop has gone up in price. This stuff always happens in response to demand. Once everyone finds out about something good, the price always goes up.

The Tire Rack had W-10's last week for $60 apiece. That's pretty hard to beat. I don't know how long that price will last though.

I put SP Sport A2 tires on my 01 Maxima a 1,000 miles ago. Got them based on the reports I read on TireRack. They are okay I guess. Not as quiet as I anticipated. They have a very aggressive tread that gives it great traction. They really hug the road, but roll resistance and a smooth ride seem to suffer. I'll look for a little quieter tire next time.

I remember this deal it was 62 per tire plus $40 for shipping. I got them for 276 for 4 tires with free shipping, which still beats tirerack deal.

Looks like when I get new tires, I have to do balancing and alightment.

decent tire for the price

This is a decent tire for the price. Some people complain about road noise but,I have not experienced a lot of noise. For the price , they can't be beat!

Well, they are loud, but you're right. For the price, you can't have everything. Personally, I'd rather have performance than a quiet tire, but other people may have different priorities.

Make sure you shop around for the balancing and mounting and alignment. Some shops rake you over the coals when you didn't buy for them, even charging extra for dismounting your old tires!! IMHO $20-25 per wheel is ok. Some dudes want over $30 then disposal fee!!
