How do I make a custom CAI for my S/C?
#3
You can buy the parts at Home Depot..Lyt97SC took us on Sunday to get the parts. We haven't tried making one for my car yet, so I couldn't give you the details. Maybe one of the other members could help you with the details?

ROTFLMAO!!!
Geez, talk about timing!![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
heh.. I suspect the instructions and part #s are something Lyt97SC might want to copyright, but here they are (from memory, guaranteed 100% to NOT be absolutely reliable, no guarnatees on this even being workable):
From Home Depot Motorsport "plumbing" section:
2 3" diameter rubber 90 degree angles (black rubber material)
2 3" diameter plastic connecting pieces (fit inside the ends of the rubber angles) (white plastic material)
2 3" diameter metal clamps
From your local traditional motorsports store:
1 K&N cone, 3" diameter inlet
1 K&N cone extension (not familiar with this part, but I suspect it's some sort of (clear??) plastic that will fit inside the piping you've bought.
1 metal clamp attaches to the SC. White plastic piece attaches to the other end. 1 rubber 90 degree angle attaches to that, goes through a hole in the inside of the fenderwell angled down. Remaining white plastic piece attaches to the the end of the now installed rubber angle. The remaining rubber angle attaches to the newly installed plastic piece and is rotated so the open end is toward the front of the car. Now install the filter. IIRC, Lyt97SC said that the extra metal clamp piece is incase you need it for an extension.
Presumably now you attach the K&N.
If that made no sense at all, it's because I have never installed it and my only visual aids were the pile of piping that Lyt97SC picked out and the installed version on Lyt97SC's car. You will also need to remove your windshield fluid bottle and relocate it.
