That's cool because I really prefer the clear look over my stock orange and red corner markers.

Clears are not rice. Clears are just something you have to have. The stock amber color looks nasty.

Who ever says that the stock orange side markers are better than clear side markers is absolutley INSANE...I think orange looks disgusting!!! If clears are ricey than Id rather be ricey than have them ugly a$$ orange sides. Untill their is a better alternative to my orange and red nightmare sides I will stick w/ clears.Thank You.

NEways, do you think my "clears" look ricey? NO they are not nor are they on the 5th gens. Its just clears not a makeover for your max.

Rice = huge aluminum wing, stickers galore, whiney mufflers, fugly body kits, and multi-color lights all over.

As long as you don't put neon green or pink bulbs behind the clears, it won't look dumb, IMO.

Thanks for letting me know that clears are not ricey. I never thought I'd get bit by the mod bug but I'm starting to consider Clears, Y-Pipe, Coil Overs and Aftermarket wheels to replace my factory 16 GXE wheels. I'm still partial to the 2k 2k1 SE 17's though.

Dude is this not the "GENERAL MAXIMA DISCUSSION" forum? How in the world can one be off topic in this forum as long as the topic in some way pertains to NISSAN MAXIMA?

By the way,

Would you not put them on if we said that they were ricey? Would you not put them on just to please some people on a BBS? Come on dude.

Okay so the answer is yes, maybe I wouldn't get clear lenses if I thought that they are generally looked down upon as funky ricer...

I think it depends on the car color. On your color (silver), white or black I would definitely get them. On any other color them seem a little ricey as they stick out a little too much (and yes I know my car is red )

Stock ambered markers are MADE IN JAPAN!

Clear markers are MADE ON TAIWAN!

Taiwan is famous for making costmetic exhaust tips, shoulder pads, glow in the dark pedals, and cheap shift *****. Go figure.

Ummm kinda, but not really. because then you would have to say stickers are rice, body kits are rice, shift ***** are rice, and basically all non performance mods are rice. You gotta draw the line somewhere. I always try to go for a clean look when modding my car. Rice to me is all the cheap accesorie crap people buy who could care less about whether or not thier car is all show and no go.

just go here and youll see. www.ricecop.com hope this helps

I think clears are rice,as any other lightning. I am amazed as much as "riceness" is being hated here as .org members put all kinds of lightning on their car...who cares about those lights, you might as well get a huge projector and install on top of your fine car. Then get 20" rims and you're in the "4x4" looks dept.

Re: Are clears rice or not?

Is it rice or is it not? Who cares? If you like how they look, get em. Everyone has a different opinion and you will never please everybody. The way some people talk you'd think window tint is rice!

Personally, I have them and think it makes the car look better. It's the way Nissan should have made the lights look.

I refuse to say that Clears are ricey. I think of them as affordable cosmetic mods.

I agree with you guys about the clears looking much better. Just look at my poor car with its original conrner lights, Ickkk! Poser or not I'm leaning towards the clears now. Thanks for the comments!

Definitely not rice. Alteezas I'll reserve comment on..hehe

But the thing is even Kia Sephias have clears now, so is it "cool" to have clears, or just ordinary? Thus if you don't have clears I wouldn't rush out to buy them. Ambers are clasic.

That's probably the reason no one here call's them rice...otherwise this board would be full of "ricers." We can change the color of the front bumper lights from amber to clear wihtout being rice. We can change the amber in the reverse lights to clear without being rice (even though that style is standard on alot of cars that tend to have "ricey" mods). Most will say we can even replace our tail lights with circular shaped ones with the remainder body-colored without being ricey. But if we get circular tail lights with chrome or carbon-fiber in them, we suddenly become ricey.
