Low/High headlight patterns
Low/High headlight patterns
Last week I changed from stock lights to Eurolite Super Plasmas. It seems the light pattern on the roadway is different. With my stock lights I had a good lowbeam, far enough out not to overdrive them, but when I hit the highbeams the range jumped down the road. With the new bulbs, I still have a good low beam pattern, but when I hit the highs I don't notice any improvement. Last night I was driving through an area with lots of trees, and it seems as though my high beam is now too high, off the roadway. I can adjust this, but it surprises me that just going from the yellowish stock to bright white makes this much difference in placement.
I also switched my foglights, and they seem much less effective, like the beam pattern is now right under my bumper. I can see a gap between the lowbeam and fogs that wasn't there before. Is there a way to adjust these up a bit so I can actually see the light on the road? My aftermarket manual doesn't say anything about this. I don't want them to be just decorative marker lights.
Odd how much different things look just from changing the bulbs!
