maxima loses to GTI

i raced my friends unmodded 91 maxima w/ like 15k on it and boy did i kill it. the second time i just paced him at half throttle and then floored and took off. I noticed some of u somewhat newer and heavily modded guys are running low 15's, which i gotta give props too since my gti runs 15 stock. Im just wondering how much money u guys put into to your cars and wat the typical mod is? with us VW guys its usually a chip that boosts our pressure, i plan on buying a chip for 350 installed, and i should be crankin out about 215 hp and 240 torque at the crank, i currently have 180 hp and 174 torque. I hope to see you guys at the track or on the highway.

GTI's were being modded when they first came out and were called Rabbits. So cheap,

so easy

Mzmtg runs 15.2s in his 1995 AUTO Maxima with nothing but a homemade cold air intake. Some (early) 3rd gens are significantly slower though...

well that depends what you are looking at. Most modded 5 speed maximas run mid high 14's
So I dont think you would be whiping that ****. But I do love Gti's
I was lookin at one but decided against it because I just really love the maxima look. but its different strokes for different folks

Is it really necessary to start s!it talkin'? Dude, calm down.

There are nicer and mature ways to say things. It is not nice to start flamin' someone if you didn't like what they said or did.

Re: Jetta's are for chicks and p#ssy's.

*lol* I guarantee you wouldn't say that to this guy at my gym. He puts 3 45's each side. Add 45 for the bar and you see he's not the latter. As to whether he's *** I'd tend to doubt it but you never know.

I don't prefer the GTI based on its looks, but it drives very well. I like the Matrix's looks, and also Nissan's new SUV.

That's really immature to have that Chips thing and MD in the sig. Where the heck would you even find that Chips thing? Most of us weren't even born when that chips dude was around.

Lol, well the moderators deleted my post I guess it was for the better, but like you said this punk comes on our site as "maximakiller" and I eat maxima's up and **** like that when we all know his little pansy looking car would get eaten by a good VQ anyday.

Why come on other car boards and talk 15 year old trash about beating an older and significantly slower maxima? Especially with a VW...

hehehe i caused a disturbance . sorry i couldnt resist, i respect you guys and wat u guys do to ur cars, as long as u dont fall into the lines of a typical ricer who puts body kits, wings, etc all over his car. But like with every car brand loyalty group i've noticed there are a group of people who know what they're doing. I am part of a local VW club, one of the fastest members is running 12s right now. I would do something crazy but of course that requires money. Sorry for makin a ruckus, these a maxima's are actually faster than i expected.

That is better

Just do a little research on our cars before you talk smack. Alot of educated enthusiats know we have fast cars, but some don't.

Just for a little example for you a 1995 Maxima GXE 5-speed will do 0-60 in 6.5 and the 1/4th in 14.9 .stock.

I've been saying that alot lately, mainly because majority of the recent posts have been stupid "whos car is better" and blah, blah and had the "Maxima is the king of all cars" attitude, so much for actual content! that gets kinda tired after while......

Um, yes I can.

But, for the record:

My next car will be a GTI 1.8t.

Never fear, I'll still have the Maxima

I'm sure there are some stock 2k2 owners who would love to show you how they run "15s". Just ask them if they want to "walk the dog."

heavily modified for us consists or intake and full exhaust... its not that muhc nothing like headers race cams or any of that...

us 4th gen 5spds run low 14s at close to or at 100mph with just intake and full exhaust

Maxima doesnt have a big aftermarket, if we did NA no NOX we could easily run 13s all day long if we had headers and other ish

I dont see how Maximakiller was really talkin smack.. VGs arent very famous for being fast... he should run against a 3rd gen VE 5spd or 4th/5th gen 5spds

hehe join the addiction. VWvortex is alright i got a great deal on a turbo timer there but thats not the forum im part of. as for ricers little specify, body kits are cool, as long as u have the power to back it up. hmmm if i got a nos kit for my car........btw i would be dead even w/ the guy running 060 in 6.5 cause thats exactly wat i will run. how many of u guys located in the dfw area, ill flash my high beams if i see you guys or something.

38 inch tires slow trucks down a lot and also the lift kit in it won't help

Actually, I was seriously considering the GTI 337 edition. Very nice, limited production with recaro seats, 18" BBS rims, sport suspension, body kit and best of all, a turbo. But of course, I had to remain true to the max

feel free to hit me up for a race anytime and oh.. let me know if I have any paint chips on my rear bumper as I fly past ya

I've heard of BillyT and seen videos of his car, its pretty sick. He has what, a T66 or some ungodly huge turbo on it? Theres a few maxima owners who are just insanely fast too.

SX7R is somewhere in texas perhaps he would be up to a race hehehe.

A modded 4th or 5th gen still running 15s is doing SOMETHING wrong, since its possible to run 14.4s with just a y pipe...

Golf Vr6's are very gutsy cars, my friend has one with intake and exhaust and its dropped, i've messed around with him a few times...handling on it is ridiculous, the car takes curves better than the maxima, take off is all about the driver, me and him took out at around 40 and i only started catching up to him at around 90 and at 125 i was riding his bumper and then passed him. VR6's are quick tho, for a car with 174hp, they're one of the cars that will keep up with the MAX pretty good, but since u raced a much older maxima you schooled him, If you every wanna try your luck with a 2k2, I'm always up for some fun.

lame. I killed a 1.8T GTI 5spd in my auto.

mods that affect speed: UDP, JWT intake.

(soon Y pipe finally, then those GTI's will only see my taillights)
