sound differences

I have a CAI. Does flooring the engine in neutral make the same sound as flooring it in drive? My friend says it doesn't matter, but I swear I can hear a big sound difference.

Also, does flooring it in neutral place more stress on the engine compared to flooring it in drive? I don't plan on doing it often, but I am curious.

Thanks.

On my POP chrger it is louder and deeper when I am driving, I think because it is sucking more air.
As for flooring it in neutral, it doesn't stress the engine more just don't do it on a cold engine and avoid bouncing off the rev limiter.
