Looks like the rear is just a valance and not a bumper replacement. No wonder the price is low.

For those that are not feeling the front, maybe its because of the stock wheels and height...

looks nice IMO.. just the front actually.. BTW, like some ppl said, how much for front? Yep i agree, it looks better with some blades and dropped.. a set of R-34 Skyline front lights would finish it off nice..

The rear doesnt look to good.. All you need to do it just use Stillen rear valences and stillen sides.. or even Sarona sides and rears and you got a nice looking kit.. Also change the color of the grilles..

I don't like the back at all. The holes/vents in the front are a bit too big. Nevertheless, it's something different. If the front bumper grills were painted black, that would make them not as noticible.

wayne look at it this way... 97% of the people on this forum have the stillen body kit or want to get it... people on here arent for being wild and truly kitting out their cars, there are a few who like different looks and like to try new things. the org is a sh!tty place to try and market body kits and almost anything else.

i love the front end and i could live with the rear, but i dont think it really fits the front end or the side skirts, maybe if it was molded completely with no seam line on the rear bumper.. i dont know though, it's hard to say. good work thought.. front end is amazing.

well all I have to say is that, while no one else noticed, the stillen front lip looks more like a R34 Skyline than that

this is a much better look

the front bumper in the picture earlier looks nothing like a R34, it looks like something you would put on a civic

Real R34 Backend

I mean come on I was going to buy this kit, in fact I would pay close to 2K for a R34 kit, but this is rediculous isn't it? I mean I don't know what that photoshopped kit looks like but the last thing it looks like is a Skyline R34 GTR

Somebody that's good with fiberglass probably can cover up the top most holes. Or maybe put Supra turn signals in those holes...Then it would be closer to the R34.

seems to me that most people thought that the stock r34 front and rear would be used for the kit, and were not aware that in fact the kit would be based on the octane kit that is for the R34.

the kit is not in production yet, check out the group buy forum, to list some suggestions for the side and rear and (sure in buyers) starting all over (need 7 buyers) The front is called Octane R34 or so, i guess its an R34 on steroids. Maxim tuning is making the exact kit or the R34 with something different for more money etc. So trying to make somthing different for the max.

GTRBlkMax97 that first pic on the grey 99 SE-L looks awesome as hell!!! i was exspecting this kit to look like that... but oh well

you're totally right, this one looks like it should be for a civic

if anyone made that kit that you photoshoped, i'd buy it in a heart beat!

much respect,
mike

How would you get that side vent on there? There's no room with the way the factory bumper is set up. And I don't think people would want to have custom work done to their cars to put the vent on.

On the photoshopped version, yes. But on the kit you're basing the max kit on, the vent goes almost back to the wheelwell. And it looks too big to be moved in front of the fender. It could work though.

"Octane" version?

If that first stab is geared towards the octane version, I'd say forget it. You'll have far fewer buyers going for that extreme a look. Something closer to the stock R34 Skyline would have more mass appeal.

I agree, the forum is a good source for ideas but not necessarily representative of purchase. You'd have to conduct a few polls with prototype shots and get opinions. Detailed opinions on why some features are liked and others not.

First and foremost, the Maxima is not a boxy car. Yes, the rear does have that "hoof-like" look, but it's got lots of curves that make it irrelevant. The kit should be curvy as well, with a nice integration into the body (not looking like a "bolt on" or obvious afterthought).
