Can my clutch feel like a 3000gt's?

I just drove my friends early 90's 300gt vr-4. It was fun. The best part was the clutch. On my max it seems to engage over a inch or so. On the 3000 the engagement was VERY abrupt, but in a good way. It hooked up with the fly wheel very quick with a little kick I could feel in my lower back. But it was not jerky at all. The pedal was a little heavy though, actually it was a little heavier then my 90' integra. There was no jerking or anything either. Im still on my stock clutch. Will an after market "performane" clutch feel like the 3000 or just like a stiffer version of my stock clutch? Thanks

Re: Can my clutch feel like a 3000gt's?

I don't know what clutch they use in the VR4, but it sounds like they might use a top-loading clutch. My Alfa Romeo GTV6 has one. The idea is that the clutch engages at the top, rather than all the way to the floor. This allows for quicker shifting since you disengage the gears earlier in the shift and have more time to complete your shift without holding down your foot. I personally felt it sounded better in theory than any actual difference, but I suppose if you really practice to make it work, it would.
