Poor Aftermarket Support

I just bought a 2002 Maxima SE in February, and I love the car. The problem is, I'm getting sick of flipping through import auto mags and seeing nothing but bodykits and mods for every other car but mine.

Stillen already has a body kit and headers out for the Altima, with plans for a supercharger. Even the IS300 has a **** load of bodykits and mods available. Yet body kits are virtually non-existent for the so-called "flagship" of Nissan? What the hell is up with that?

I'm a single guy driving what I thought was a well regarded sport sedan, not a damn family wagon. I feel like Mike ****ing Brady without the kids, the dog, and the maid. It's like a blew 28g's on a car that wasn't made for me. None of the major aftermarket companies gives a **** about Maximas.

I love the car, but I should have just waited for the G35 Coupe. There is already an assortment of kits and mods available for this car in Japan, ready for shipment to the states.

Is anybody else as ****ed off and fed up with this crap as I am?

Having less mods for our cars makes me feel more unique - Less hooked up maxima's, harder to find parts, more RARE your car is!

Just Always remember this, the Nissan MAXIMA will always suck donkey nads becuase it is front wheel drive.

Well if you bought a car and then thought about the aftermarket support for it and what you wanted then afterwards then i'd say you didn't do your research. If you plan to mod a car based on what's on the market then buy a car with the support or be innovative and create mods yourself...

One thing i would like to point out is that the 2K2 Max is made in Japan to be exported here[US Version] not to be used there.

Thus you will rarely see anything for the max unlike hondas/acura's which are readily available to the japanese market.

Slap some rim's on it and lay low for another six month's and see what come's up.

That would suck if they did not make a S/C for the 2K2 max especialy with what power it already has. All I can say is the 2K2 max can be SUPER FAST.

I personally think that most of you people are to blame yourselves not others, everytime someone comes along and wants to start a body kit or ont he 3rd gens wanted to get a cf hood then there is always a lack of people. Everyone says if we had this or that then it would be better, but when people try and get things for our cars then no one is there to front the $...all the people with nice cars on the org are the ones who talk the least, complain the least and get the most done because they know how...just my .02

If you bought a car and aftermarket support and parts was so important to you, then don't you think you should have done some research on that before you bought the car?

There's no fault but your own on that one.

You should have bought a Honduh Accord V6. The car will never ever truely be fast, even modded. But the car looks pretty good stock and honduh ricers love to mod them for show, so as a result of that there are tons of bodykits and other rice mods available for them such as alteeza's, CF hoods, you name it.

Of course, then you'd complain about how the car is slow as crap and that it can't even manage to outrun a decently powered SUV if it got a good enough run on you (true)!!

The BMW's get a weight penalty for the rwd so the fwd cars have a chance, same deal in European touring cars.

HAHA, this is true, my brother beats my friend's accord on a regular basis in his 4runner.

I believe they get a weight penalty for their horsepower and displacement advantage as well. Either way, it doesn't affect handling. The BMW's can still outpower the realtime integras on the straights but what it comes down to is driver skill. In the end, my point was that a fwd car properly tuned is more than adequate for road race competition caliber handling. Well up to a certain hp threshold. But how many of us are planning on pushing 400 hp in a maxima anyway. :P

I was just baaaaarely able to close the door on a new Mercury Mountaineer V8, and this really old-azz Toyota V6 truck from a roll on the highway both times when they got jumps on me. The Accord V6 is a nice car, but the gearing sucks and it just doesn't have the "reserve power" to lay the smack down when you need it to.

Maxima 5spd. Different story. Select 3rd gear and you are gone baby!!!

Haha, yeah, I am loving the manual tranny...

We make fun of him all day my work (accord guy) cause he gets beat by a truck. Btw he is 4 cylinder of course. v6 could probably beat the 4runner by a bit. Funny thing though, when we make fun of him, we say his window banner should read "Powered by Hope"

hmmm can someone photoshop a logo with that expression? hehehe
