I hope you realize that most of the people who would respond to a question like this have more costly then average rims. Not saying anyone is "showing off" or bragging but when people shell out 2k+ for wheels they want people to know how dope their wheels are. 17" wheels that look ok start at like 85 each, I paid 800 for wheels tires and they still weigh less than stock 15".

They are 17x7 eagle alloys, polished lip w/ painted spokes. They DEFFINATELY are not my favorite rims but the price was right and I hated the caps on 15's. I have yokohamma tires I forget which omes but they are the H rated tires. I bought them from rim1.com. I dont think they have them anymore though. I have had them for about 18k now and am very happy. I bought them before I knew about the org and let the local tire guy talk me in to the wrong size 215/45, the gap sux. 19lbs for the wheels. I wish I had the money for something nicer/lighter but I am in school and like to spend my money on other stuff like partys, rent, utilities, friends, punk shows, etc. I also didnt really care about looks all that much b/c when you are rolling cheap wheels look about the same as expensive wheels and I dont spend too much time looking at my car in the dirve way.

For my 18x8 TGF AX and 235/40-18 just under $1050. Rims were only $129, they've been around since Feb 99 so the big price drop. I found an old mag and I think the rims were $309 when they came out. Cast aluminum alloy is just that--it doesn't get heavier or weaker as it ages, it doesn't understand style. I thought the price was chump change (or else I woulda been stuck with RE950 in the tiny 215/16 size for about $500 less).

this is the way to go on a budget! Your rims aren't that bad looking at all. You got an overall deal of 800 per set only because you went with cheaper tires. The correct tire for 17's is 225x50R17 or 235x45R17, then the price would've been 900-950.
No matter where I look, currently there's no cheaper deal than 950+shipping for 17"s.

With your requirements, i doubt u will find an ample selection of quality wheels. People who spend big $$ on wheels want to floss- nothing wrong with that. I went with high end wheels for both cars because wheels are the biggest statement one can make with his or her ride.

I said 950+shipping, which comes out to be roughly 100. There are plenty of companies on West Coast that sell rims, they are cheaper there. All you do, is open Super Street magazine, and call up every wheel advertiser there is, and ask for any specials. You may not like what you get, though..but ad a 100 bucks and you can get a decent rims from discounttiredirect.Originally posted by 190hpKiLLA

I have the beige color. I think it highlights the gap even more because of the contrast between the light car and the black tire and wheel well. When I see cars with the 235/45 combo I love how the tire has more side wall. I have a 7" rim so my only solution is 225/50, I just think the 215/45 looks a little too small on the car. I'll also get like 3/4 more ground clearance. I havent driven many cars with performance tires so I dont have a good basis for comparison. How do you like the yoko's. Mine seem to be wearing very well, decent grip and better than average rain handling. i saw it for the above price on the net...but for rims, i don't know if i would recommend buying on net unless u buying something u already saw in person....rims are a very delicate thing to pick and just cause it looks hot on net doesn't mean it will look hot on your car.....just a quick word of advice Originally posted by meccanoble

When I got my rims/tires from the Tire Rack the shipping was $67.50 base, and an extra $20 for 2nd day via FedEx. That was pretty reasonable considering sales tax locally would have been 6% or about $63 anyway, not to mention mounting and balancing would have been extra. It was cool how the new lug nuts, hub centering rings, additional valve stems, and lug adapter were all included as part of the base price. Originally posted by 97MaxGurl
